It's Gamblin' Time

Greg's mom, Millie, and his grandmother, Nina, came into town today!  We gave them the grand tour of our one-bedroom apartment then set out to grab lunch at Cote France.   After devouring our fabulous sandwiches, we hopped in the car and headed to Fort Lauderdale.  After immigrating to the States from Cuba, both of Greg's parents lived in Fort Lauderdale until they later moved up to North Carolina. We took Millie and Nina by the home that they lived in during the 70's and 80's.
A huge boat show is going on in Fort Lauderdale over the next few weeks so there are a bajillion humungous yachts floating around.  We found a parking lot along the waterway and walked around to get a close-up view of some of those bad boys.  They were ridic.
Thought this was presh so I had to click a pic

Millie had noticed a few billboards advertising local casinos on the way down here and she was feeling luckyyyy!  So we went to the closest casino which is the Seminole Hardrock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fl.  It was crazy, we went from being in a terribly ugly part of Florida to what felt like Vegas.  The casino was so legit and so much fun (minus the amount of cigarette smoke).  I came out $8 richer, Greg $50, and Mille $100!!  Amazing!

The ladies wanted some really good seafood for dinner so we took them to Legal Seafoods, which is out of Boston.  We had never been, but heard rave reviews.  The clam chowder was freaking awesome and so were all of our different dishes.  I chose an almond-crusted salmon with mushroom and spinach ravioli yummm.
Today was oh so much fun!  Tomorrow we are going to do a little shopping at the mall, have a nice lunch then send them off :(
But hopefully Greg and I will have time to go by the Y and sign up for a membership!!
